Knowledge Plaza 2.4Because knowledge management is as much about conversation as information, we wanted to enrich the platform with conversational features and stimulate discussions. The solution has strong information management abilities, we now want to make it better at managing your conversations.

With this update, be careful using Knowledge Plaza: It's addictive!


Enriched activity feed on the dashboard

  • The dashboard now aggregates activity from all your workspaces and tiles/members you follow
  • You can post comments directly from the dashboard
  • It shows thumbnails of the Tiles

Commenting on status updates

Status updates can be commented and lead to conversations

Quich search bar

  • This search bar lets you quickly access recent mosaics and member profiles
  • It shows on any page

Advanced search

  • This comprehensive search interface offers many predefined options and filters
  • A query builder in full Boolean mode helps you design more complex searches that can be edited manually

Instant messaging

  • This option is not activated by default on KP Enterprise instances (available on request)
  • An online presence indicator eases conversations

The new 'follow' concept

This option replaces the 'bookmark' option. It offers you to be alerted of any change made on tiles or members you follow. You can follow Tiles spontaneously. The system will also automatically consider you are following Tiles/Mosaics you either:
  • rate
  • comment
  • modify (metadata, new versions, wiki pages)
  • receive
  • tag
  • relate/unrelate

Improved management of wiki versions

You can revert any wiki page to an older version (Mosaics)

System digests (KP Enterprise only)

A Plaza administrator can subscribe multiple users to digests built on basis of a saved search

  • Email alert when a new version of a document is uploaded
  • RSS feeds and digests now also available on KP Communities
  • A new sorting option on Tiles recently updated
  • Improved reviewing criteria (newly added tiles having both description and tags will not appear in the review list anymore)

Knowledge Plaza 2.4Parce que la connaissance se fonde autant sur l'information que sur les conversations, nous avons voulu sensiblement améliorer la convivialité et stimuler ainsi les échanges. La Plaza a été également simplifiée, tout en conservant sa richesse fonctionnelle.

Avec cette mise à jour, nous sommes obligés de vous prévenir: faites attention, c'est addictif!


Flux d’activité amélioré dans le tableau de bord

  • Le tableau de bord affiche l’activité liée aux informations auxquelles l’utilisateur est abonné (Espaces, Tiles et Membres)
  • Les activités autour des pièces d’information sont désormais regroupées
  • Il est possible d'ajouter un commentaire depuis le tableau de bord
  • Il offre également une prévisualisation des Tiles

Commentaires et réponses sur les statuts des utilisateurs

Les statuts peuvent être commentés et déboucher sur des discussions

Barre de ‘recherche rapide’

  • Cette barre offre un accès direct vers les Mosaics et profils d’utilisateurs
  • Elle est accessible depuis n’importe quelle page

Recherche avancée

  • La recherche avancée offre des champs prédéfinis et nombreux filtres
  • Une aide à la construction de la requête en mode Booléen est disponible pour des recherches plus complexes éditées manuellement

Messagerie instantanée

  • Cette option est disponible sur demande pour les versions Entreprise
  • Un indicateur de présence en ligne affiché sur les avatars des profils facilite les échanges

Révision du suivi des activités liées aux pièces d’informations

Le bookmarking laisse place à l'abonnement, spontané ou dès que vous accomplissez une des actions suivantes :
  • évaluer
  • commenter
  • recevoir un Tile (envoyé par un utilisateur)
  • taguer
  • relier/délier des Tiles
  • modifier/ajouter/effacer une page wiki de Mosaic
  • ajouter/retirer un Tile d'une Mosaic

Gestion améliorée des versions des pages wiki

Il est désormais possible de restaurer une version antérieure d'une page wiki (Mosaics)

Digests partagés (KP Enterprise uniquement)

L'administrateur de la Plaza peut abonner de multiples utilisateurs à un digest au départ d'une recherche sauvegardée

Knowledge Plaza's rights model is quite complex, which also makes it really powerful. Here are two tables, one enumerating rights on workspaces level, and the other on the Plaza itself.

Those following rights apply
  • to any fully visible Tile (metadata + content)
  • in public workspaces
Indeed, Knowledge Plaza lets choose between 5 levels of Tiles privacy, ‘reference’ meaning that users can identify the restricted Tile (or Mosaic) and read its metadata and comments, but can’t access its content. Those 5 levels are:
  • Full view for anyone
  • Full view for Workspace members, reference for anyone else
  • Full view for Workspace members only, invisible to non-members
  • Full view for owner only, reference for anyone else
  • Full view for owner only, reference for Workspace members, invisible to non-members

Besides, workspaces can be either public or private. If a workspace is private, non-members won’t see it, except Plaza administrators.

Also, each user has its own individual private workspace. All its content is totally invisible to others.

Users can though give access to hidden or restricted Tiles by sending them to other users, using the 'Send' functionality'.

Rights on original contributors can’t be revoked, even after leaving a workspace where they added Tiles.

Finally, Plaza guests won’t be able to access any workspace (even public) except if they are at least guests in those workspaces.
